Therapeutic Riding Instructor

Part-Time

ManeGait is a nonprofit therapeutic riding center committed to transforming lives through the power of horses. We serve riders of all abilities, delivering therapeutic horseback riding programs rooted in compassion, safety, and growth.

We are seeking a passionate part-time instructor — whether certified or working toward certification — to help us expand access to equine-assisted activities in our community.

What you’ll do

• Plan and deliver safe, group therapeutic riding lessons for riders with a range of physical, cognitive, and emotional needs

• Collaborate with volunteers, sidewalkers, and staff to provide a supportive, structured session environment

• Maintain accurate session documentation and progress notes for each of your riders

• Work in a fast-paced, highly active outdoor environment with exposure to walking on uneven terrain, standing

for extended periods of time, and changing weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and dust

• Contribute to ManeGait’s mission across our four pillars: Therapeutic Horsemanship, Brain Building, Community, and Education

What we’re looking for

• PATH Intl. CTRI or CHA IRD certification is a plus, but not required — candidates actively pursuing certification or with equivalent equine and adaptive experience are welcome to apply

• Experience teaching group horseback riding lessons

• Experience working with or supporting individuals with disabilities

• Strong communication skills and a warm, patient approach with riders, families, and volunteers

• Experienced rider (English or Western) with well-developed horsemanship knowledge

• A true team player who brings initiative, professionalism, and a shared dedication to delivering the highest quality therapeutic horsemanship experience

• Availability for a part-time schedule, including Saturdays and some evenings

To apply, send a resume and brief introduction to manegait@manegait.org with the subject line “Part-Time Riding Instructor.” We welcome applications from candidates at all career stages – including those pursuing initial certification.
