Careers at ManeGait

ManeGait was founded in 2007 as an answer to a three-and-a-half-year prayer for our founders.

From just two horses and four riders in the beginning, ManeGait has grown into a nationally recognized therapeutic riding center, serving 150 individuals with disabilities each week. At the same time, ManeGait has become a center for volunteerism and fellowship – a refuge for the entire community to be inspired by nature and engaged in a shared mission. Today, ManeGait is a beacon of hope and healing, welcoming thousands of riders, volunteers, and partners to the arena each year.

Professional Standards – The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) is a network of 850 equine therapy centers worldwide with the mission of promoting safe and effective therapeutic riding practices. ManeGait has earned the highest industry designation set forth by PATH Intl. In contrast to riding centers that rely on volunteer instructors, every lesson at ManeGait is led by a PATH Certified Riding Instructor. In 2023, ManeGait also became an accredited center with the Certified Horsemanship Association.

Innovative Programs – The success of the GaitWay program prompted Texas Woman’s University to conduct a two-year research study quantifying the outcomes of the GaitWay methodology. ManeGait is also the first riding center in the country to introduce a high-tech equestrian riding simulator as part of its therapeutic programs.

Knowledge Sharing & Research – ManeGait hosts continuing education workshops, instructor training, and research studies. We have also developed a training workshop to support the replication of the GaitWay methodology at riding centers across the world.
