Riders Compete in State Special Olympics

State Special Olympics was held in Bryan College Station May 17 and May 18. We sent seven riders and horses to represent ManeGait, and they all performed beautifully!
Each of our riders showed great focus in the competition showcasing their skills they've learned in the High Five Arena. Every rider had a personal best at State!
Our riders placed in every event, but it's the beaming smiles that make these competitions worth all the effort.
Congratulations to all of our riders for their awesome performances!

3rd Annual Filly Fashion Show

It was a crisp day at ManeGait for the 3rd annual Filly Fashion Show, but the wind didn't stop any of the over 350 area ladies and gents from coming out to enjoy the fashion show luncheon, themed Derby Chic, in the High Five Arena.

5th Annual ManeGait Horse Show

Saturday, April 20th was a sunny and cool day out in the High Five Arena for ManeGait's 5th annual Horse Show. Sixteen divisions of 4-6 riders each competed in Equitation and Trail classes. Equitation class requires the riders to walk, trot, and go into 2-point or trail seat depending on ability. Riders are judged on their poise and posture in the saddle. For the Trail class, riders had to maneuver their horses through a series of obstacles and are judged on how well they can navigate their horses. All of our riders had a great time and smiles were abundant!

ManeGait Riders Compete in Gold Stirrup Horse Show

The Gold Stirrup Horse Show is part of the Austin Rodeo in the Travis County Expo Center and is for riders with disabilities. Since it was our first time to participate in this show, we took two riders and two of our newest horses to test it out. Jillian Black and Lucy Kimbrough with horses Wrangler, Hope, and Winston competed in several events. Because of the great showing, ManeGait plans to attend again next year. "It was a blast," stated Erin Cook, ManeGait Instructor and Horse Show Coordinator, "And we will definitely be taking more horses next year!"
